Sakthi Matrimony exists to help families find a life partner. We collect only what is needed for that purpose, we ask for your consent before collecting it, and you can withdraw consent, correct your details or erase your account at any time. This policy is written for the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Rules.
What we collect and why
- Account data — your mobile number (verified by OTP) and optional email, to sign you in, secure your account and send invoices.
- Profile data — name, age, education, work, family and location, to show your profile to prospective matches and recommend matches to you.
- Sensitive details — religion, community, and horoscope details. These are optional, collected only with your explicit consent, and used only for matchmaking.
- Photos — shown only according to the privacy setting you choose. Every upload is reviewed before it goes live.
- Activity — interests, shortlists, messages, profile views and contact unlocks, to run the service and to keep members safe.
- Payments — processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card or UPI credentials.
Who can see your information
Visitors see a shortened name and only photos you have made public. Members see your profile according to your settings. Your phone number is shown only to a member who spends a contact unlock on your profile, and you are notified each time. Our staff access data only to moderate profiles, resolve reports and support you.
Your rights
- Access — download a copy of your data from your account.
- Correction — edit any detail from your account, or ask us to correct it.
- Withdrawal of consent and erasure — hide your profile at any time, or delete your account. Deleted accounts are erased permanently after 30 days.
- Grievance redressal — contact our grievance officer below; we acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 15 days.
Retention and security
We keep your data while your account is active and for 30 days after you delete it, except where the law requires us to keep records such as tax invoices. Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by role, and every administrative change is logged. If a breach affects you, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board as the DPDP Act requires.
